The auction aims to raise money for her ‘literary goals’ and she claims to have a decent voice.

A woman from Northumberland is selling her thoughts on eBay to raise money for her rent. Claire Wesley, 21 came up with the idea after discussing with a friend what she could sell. Claire is not the first person from the north of England to put an aspect of her life for sale on eBay. Ian usher put his whole life up for sale last month after a break-up with his wife.

eBay seller ryglvn2000 has put a piece of popcorn which he claims looks like a human skull for auction on eBay. The man’s wife found the popcorn during a trip to the cinema. Unsurprisingly although the auction has attracted a lot of attention there are no bids.
Name a rat on eBay

eBay seller styior is offering the chance to name his pet rat. Styior was unable to think of a name for his new pet so thought he’d let someone else choose it. The winning bidder will receive a certificate proving the rat has been named. As usual with these weird auctions it has attracted a lot of attention, however no one has bid.
Public Toilets for Sale

American city, Seattle has put five of its self-cleaning toilets on eBay starting at $89,000 each. Reasons cited for the sale include that they have been used by drug dealers and prostitutes. The cost-effectiveness has also been called into question.
The toilets were installed in 2004 and cost around $5m. Features include an emergency services button, automatic doors and graffiti resistant walls. As of yet the luxurious toilets have received no bids.

A recent college graduate has put pictures of his son opening presents for sale on eBay. The man has been trying to find a job for the last three months, but has not found one. He wants to give his son a good birthday present because “he deserves it†and the winner will receive photos and a thankyou card. At the time of posting this blog the item had no bids and has 2 days remaining!

The man who was selling his life the other week received $384,000- significantly less than the value of his house! Although disappointed Ian Usher still plans to press ahead with the deal and has now started a new website “100goals100weeks.com” where he aims to complete 100 lifetime goals in 100 weeks, these range from going to New York to joining the mile high club… good luck Ian!

An enterprising bride-to-be put the position of bridesmaid up for sale on eBay! The bride, Kelly Gray from Virginia Beach in the United States decided to start the auction after they decided their $7,000 budget was too low. The auction has just finished and the winning bidder, the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, has upped their $5,700 winning bid to $10,000 and offered to provide free drinks for the wedding which will take place on 19th April 2009.

An Australian man is selling his life on eBay. Ian Usher decided to put his life up for sale after his wife of 12 years left him. The auction is currently at 390,000AUD (Australian $) with two days remaining. The auction of a lifetime, literally, includes a house, four modes of transport (car, motorbike, jet ski and a push bike), his friends and his job. Ian, originally from the UK, plans to take the money he raises and travel the world.

One of the most bizare auctions I have seen for a long time on eBay is this one. Someone is auctioning their “friendship” (nothing tangible) to raise money to bring a friend over to the United States from New Zealand. This has amounts to no less than begging- and people are actually bidding! At the time of writing the auction is at $21.50 and has had over 350 views.
