FA cup final tickets, Man City vs Stoke City

April 19, 2011

FA cup final tickets, Man City vs Stoke City

Well this is a turn up for the books, two random teams trying to win what I consider the best cup competition in the world, the FA cup. The final will as always be played traditionally at Wembley.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday, who would of thought that it would end up Man City vs Stoke City? Not me thats for sure, I thought it would end up Man United vs Bolton, and my bet365 account show this.

Well if you look to the left of this article I’m sure there will be adverts offering tickets, so watch this space.

Also it would be good to get a score prediction going, if someone gets it spot on ill give that person a free guest blog on here, talking about whatever you want, within reason.

My personal guess will be 3-1 to Manchester City.

My boss who is a Stoke fan is guessing 2-1 to Stoke City.

What’s your prediction?

This year I’m going to be keeping an eye eBay for ticket prices as last year I saw a last minute ticket going for over £500, I’m not sure when you can buy a new laptop or have two weeks in the sun for that cost that I would spend that amount on a football ticket?

Royal wedding invitations

February 24, 2011

With the Royal Wedding invitations having been handed out this week, the public are starting to get excited about what is likely to be one of the events of the year.
With the guest list ranging from David & Victoria Beckham, through to MP’s and other members of the royal family, it is likely to be a who’s who of fashionable people.
The invitations that have been released were quickly leaked to the press and have been widely praised for their simple, yet elegant design. This is in keeping with William and Kate’s modest lifestyle that they appear to lead despite being one of the most photographed couples.
For those of us not lucky enough to get an invite, there is the added bonus of the way the bank holidays fall and if you are clever enough (or your boss is understanding), then you can actually end up with 11 days off work, whilst using only 3 official holiday days.
If you haven’t already started thinking about it, the opportunity for street party is something that shouldn’t be turned down. These parties are likely to be the bringing together of people, who in current society don’t always speak with their neighbours.
All in all, the wedding of William and Kate will be an event not to be missed.

I can’t sell my things

January 31, 2011

Sometimes people don’t want your things on ebay. I once tried to sell a carrier bag that I think Cliff Richard might have once looked at. But no one bought it.

There was also the time that I found a piece of toast that had a burnt bit on it that looked like the face of a seahorse, but no one bought that either; not even seahorse fans.

I don’t really understand it because my mates seem to sell all sorts of things on ebay – all the junk from their bedrooms. But I don’t have much luck. Ever. With anything really.

Ebay is good

January 11, 2011

Ebay is a really good website and I love it because you can sell lots of different things on this website. Once I sold a racoon who plays the trumpet and another time I sold a cat with a face made out of marmite.

Some people will pay a lot of money for things that you don’t want and that’s why ebay is so good. If you have a lot of old rubbish that is messing up your room, then put it on ebay because someone will probably give you money for it and you can buy sweets with that money.

Beware of counterfeit goods sellers on eBay

November 30, 2010

With the recent news coming from the US that authorities have started to crack down on websites selling counterfeit goods, it reminded me that, in the past, eBay itself has known to be susceptible for unknowingly allowing bogus sellers to trade in fake branded goods on the site.

Personally I have never had a problem with this as everything I have bought seems to have been legit; however, I have known people who have bought replica goods like handbags and antique ornaments which, upon close scrutiny, were found not to have been genuine.

These days, it is more difficult to spot fake goods on eBay as sellers use any means possible to get rid of their stock. This is why it is always important to check out the feedback of the person selling the items before placing a bid.

Katie Green on eBay

November 16, 2010

So Katie Green is a UK model from Chichester who recently made it famous in 2010 by doing certain shoots for magazines but it seems her friends are starting to cash in on her fame by selling either her possessions or signed property and memorabilia on eBay.

I noticed one of her auctions of a signed calendar went for over one hundreds pounds yesterday. One hundred pounds for a calendar, that must be a big fan, either way you make your own mind up what would you pay for some pics of this girl? I dont think I would shell out £100!!

eBay abroad and my experience

October 2, 2010

I was recently in turkey and using the net over there was very difficult but luckily i got a local to help me use the translated version eBay in Turkish.

It was very similar and I found that the countries products were slightly cheaper than the UK.

Have you ever considered shopping internationally to get a better price?

Its a bit nerve racking waiting for your item to get to your hotel, will it get here in time, what do I do if its wrong or broke, but I suppose that makes it a bit more exciting.

Improved Seller Protection for eBay

September 30, 2010

eBay are known to protect buyers from dodgy sellers but it’s only recently they announced that they are improving the protection sellers have from troublesome and problematic buyers. One of the main changes is the change in starring ratings when leaving feedback.

When sellers opt to sell a product with free shipping they are automatically given five stars for their postage and packaging ratings.

If your default handling time is set to one day and provide tracking information and eBay knows you have sent the products then you’ll automatically get five stars for despatch time. This is great news for all good sellers!

eBay profits soar with Skype sale

September 29, 2010

eBay, world famous online auction site, sold a 65% stake of its internet phone company Skype for a whopping $2bn late last September. This has seen eBay’s profits soar 16% compared to figures last year of $2.37bn.

In the three months leading up to December, eBay made a net profit of $1.36bn, or £835m which is up from £367 for the same period last year. During the Christmas period, online shopping had increased which saw PayPal profits grow and sales rocket. eBay claim that even without the sale of part of Skype, profit was still way ahead of market expectations.

New Community Hub launched on eBay

September 23, 2010

You may or may not have noticed the original eBay forums and groups center had been pulled down and taken offline just the other night and has now been replaced with a new look and new format.

Many eBay community members will notice the local favourite haunts such as the Nags Head and Q&A now longer exist sadly, though many will be pleased to hear the Round Table had survived the re-vamp. Why this and not the others, we do not know.

If you’ve not tried the new community hub out yet, go and do it now! Tell us what you think of it. Which aspects of it do you like? What don’t you like?
