Tiffany Jewellers loses court case against eBay
September 15, 2010
Tiffany & Co, world famous jewellers challenged eBay several years ago over claims that eBay engaged in false advertising and the selling of counterfeit goods. This lawsuit was made in 2004. The federal court judge indicates that there were no evidence found against eBay to prove that eBay listings were either misleading nor confusing. Between 2003 and 2006, Tiffany claimed that hundreds and thousands of listings selling counterfeit Tiffany jewellery were sold through eBay and that eBay should have done more to prevent these sales from taking place.
Haye vs Harrison tickets
September 8, 2010
Haye vs Harrison tickets on eBay, has anyone seen any signs of Haye vs Harrison tickets yet that will be on the 13Th November at the MEN in Manchester.
Last time Haye fought people got hold of reserved tickets and you could bid on them on eBay before the seller actually had them.
The tickets officially go on sale at 12 pm today and there are rumours that a ring side seat starts at £825 but if you don’t have that sort of cash you can pick up tickets for £25-£80 dependant on seats.
What would you pay for a seat to the all English world title fight?

Nosh and Breks Macclesfield

DON’T TRUST THIS CAFE!!! (this is only my opinion read below)
Nosh and Breks Macclesfield, I want to talk about one or two things that are continually happening at the little cafe in Macclesfield on Hurdsfield Road.
A friend of mine lives around the corner on Garden Street, the road is renowned for being a very busy road and is consistently full of parked cars from the residents and people trying to avoid parking charges at the local train station.
As my friend has two cars, he and his girlfriend sometimes get pushed out of the parking spaces on the street by working late or just being unlucky. The next best place to park is outside Nosh and Breks cafe because of street lights etc.
The first time he did this a mad lady stormed out of the cafe telling him he could not park there as the space infornt of the shop is used by cars, truck, builders etc stopping for breakfast. As there are no yellow lines or signs she has no rights to the stretch of road.
Now, its not a coincidence that any car that has parked there over night has ended up with a large key scratch all the way down the side facing the shop. It has been reported that over 10 cars have had this happen.
We have no video evidence but if you owned the shop and wanted that space free, what would make the cars that are parking there never return, a deep key scratch?
One car in particularly has been attacked more than 3 times in the same spot with more elaborate scratches.
If this has happened to you please report it here.
All this is circumstantial but if any body has had this happen to them and we let the right authorities know surely they will be forced to investigate further and make this crime stop happening.

UK eBay shill bidder fined £50k
September 1, 2010
Fresh warnings come after Paul Barrett of County Durham became the first Briton to be fined for faking bids on his own auctions. He set up two separate accounts in order to deceive hid bidders.
Trading Standards of North Yorkshire stated that by bidding on your own items or getting friends and family members to bid, you are breaking the law. 39 year old Paul, who works owns a minibus hire firm will be sentenced in May next year and will face a fine of up to £50,000 after admitting to ten breaches of trading standards regulations, each carrying a maximum fine of £5,000.
Katrina Kaif
August 10, 2010
Have you ever heard of Katrina Kaif, I hadn’t until last week, apparently she is a famous bollywood actress/ British model including underwear shoots. One of my friends came across her whilst shopping on eBay for a birthday present for a girl who is really into her bollywood films.
He is not the brightest and found something suitable but ended up bidding on some photos from Katrina Kaif’s career, they arrived today at work and as you can see from the image the girl who opens the works post was not over impressed when she found the scantly clad dressed model staring right at her.
What do you think?

Lady Gaga
August 10, 2010
I believe Lady Gaga is the most searched woman on the internet so far in 2010, so I thought I would check out the relevant data on eBay.
It turns out last month that she had over 1.5 million related searches on eBay,,,, 1.5 MILLION, its almost worth setting a Lady Gaga related shop to see if I can make a profit.
Have any of you out there tried selling famous memorabilia and made a decent profit?
If so, post a comment or story and I will let the world know by updating this post. To date my best profit on eBay was from a resell and I made £2567 profit. Beat that.

A Deal Gone Wrong & How To Get It Sorted
July 31, 2010
Unfortunately, there a lot of people out there that are trying to part you from your money without giving you something in return. They may list items and not send them, or inaccurately describe them, or simply not have the item they claim to. It’s all so frustrating when you are done out of something you really want.
And eBay is here to help! Having bought 7 boxset dvds (Smallville, great show!), I found one disk in series 4 missing, but only noticed this a week or so after I had recieved the item (I know, I know, I should have checked them fully as soon as I had seen them). So, I dropped eBay an email, as I wasn’t getting a response from the seller – and got a phone call within a couple of hours, completed some security checks, and then got the direct contact details for the seller – dropped him a line, and got the disk in the post that week!It was really really easy.
So, top tips – always check the seller is an established one, and if not – ask them questions! Always, always double check the items (all of them if its multiples) and let the seller know asap – and if all else fails, contact eBay!
Generate Cash For Charity With Your eBay Items!
July 24, 2010
The classic “bring-and-buy” sale is an often used format within schools or churches, to generate a “re-use your unwanted items” at the same time as making some cash for a good cause. And eBay fits really well into this category! Sell your items, collect the cash – donate to charity. Well, eBay have made this even easier!
In the “GivingWorks” section of the site, you are now able to list items, and donate the funds straight to the charity – getting them the cash quicker, and giving you that sense of doing some good for your worthy cause, and all from the comfort of your PC!
eBay may have started life as a simple auction site, but it is developing into a real online community.
A WorldofGood on eBay!
July 17, 2010
I have been increasingly aware of the availability of more environmentally and economically responsible products, and their increasing availability online. From chocolate, to clothes, to home decorations, if it can be made ethically, there is an increasing market for it. The increasing presence in the media has generated an awareness of where things come from – and people are increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of buying items made at the cost of someone else.
I expected to find such items on eBay, but was pleasantly surprised to find an entire sub-domain dedicated to them! I’ve had a look through, and found some beautiful jewelery, clothes, ornaments, and even musical instruments! Some are a little pricey, but most are really reasonably priced! So pop on over to eBay and check out your ethical bargains today!
Just Search
July 15, 2010
Just Search, is a game we play on eBay, you have to come up with a term that you can Just Search and only get one result. If you find a product that only has one result you get points for the buy it now price and points for the amount of letters contained in the product description.
Try playing Just Search with your friends and create a league table with a prize from a cheap seller on eBay. We did this and the only reason I’m blogging about the game Just Search is because I won, my friends have just bought me a new water bottle for my bike.
We have recoreded all the results so we can play again next month and not include all the products used so far.
Off the record I won because I found a misspelt product with no other matches which have a very long description getting me the most points and making me the Just Search champion for July.
