eBay Motors today reached a milestone today, it has now sold 3 million cars since its creation in 2000. The 3,000,000th car was a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup and the winning bidder was Patricia Weidler from Otego. eBay Motors celebrated by reimbursing the cost of the truck ($8,886) and giving away $3,000 in parts for it.

April 16, 2008
eBay is planning to stop its live auction service in December. eBay explained that it has taken this decision in order to refocus on its core business. This move follows several controversial moves by eBay including stopping negative feedback for buyers and forcing payment by PayPal in Australia.

COA or Certificate of Authenticity is used by sellers on eBay to let buyers know that an item will come with a Certificate of Authenticity, i.e. the item is authentic and has certification to prove it.
How to Find a Bargain on eBay
April 14, 2008
There are many tools out there that will help you find a bargain on eBay. Many sellers fail to check the spelling of auction titles and therefore they cannot be seen by users searching for a topic. We now have our own eBay Typo Tool which allows you to enter a search and it will provide a link to various variations of the search with common spelling mistakes. For example if you enter beano into the eBay Typo Tool it will search for beaon, ebano, etc.. meaning you can find misspelt auctions and hopefully a bargain!
MIB – Mint in Box
April 13, 2008
MIB or Mint in Box is an abbreviation used by sellers to describe an item that is in perfect condition (usually unused) and will come with its original box.
Please note it is advisable to check with the buyer that there is no damage to the box.
Military items for sale on eBay
April 12, 2008
US investigators have found and purchased more than a dozen military items from eBay and Craigslist including nuclear protective clothing and parts for fighter jets. The committee has suggested that these items could have been shipped easily to international and ‘local’ buyers, which is more than slightly worrying.
eBay Plans to Stop Buyer Ratings
April 11, 2008
eBay is making plans to stop sellers from rating buyers, clearly this move is bad for sellers as bad buyers cannot be spotted as easily. eBay says that it will police buyers more closely to ensure that negative comments are only given in cases when they are deserved, however I am of the opinion that this is a bad move and the cost to eBay for policing comment (and sellers- how are they going to fund it?) Â will outweigh the benefits.
eBayers forced to use PayPal in Australia
April 10, 2008
eBay has announced that it is forcing all Australian eBayers to use PayPal, its own payment gateway, stopping sellers accepting other methods of receiving money. eBay claims this move is to reduce disputes and increase security. This will surely cause another protest from sellers as eBay is essentially taking even more money. Lets hope this doesn’t get enforced in the UK.
Banana Octopus for sale on eBay
April 9, 2008
Out of all of the weird auctions on eBay this one has to be one of the most ingenious, this seller claims to have the President of the United Fruits of America up for sale, suprisingly after 1800+ views noone has bid on it.
