Chicago sues eBay

Chicago is suing eBay and StubHub (one of eBay’s subsidiaries) for not failing to collect an 8 percent tax on tickets sold online. Chicago law states that reseller agents such as eBay must pay an amusement tax. eBay and StubHub have reacted strongly stating that they do not think the tax can and should be enforced.
