Knife sales on eBay
November 21, 2008
One thing that always concerns me on eBay is the amount of knife sales that happen everyday. Look at this knife which you can buy if you get the right bid for just a pound.
It scares me as its not that difficult to set up an account and get some form of payment through a friend or family member.
The amount of knife crime that is rife in England at the minute is terrible and a statement back in May from the authorities said:
“In London, where 20 teenagers have been killed with knives so far this year, the police embarked on a six-week blitz in May. About 27,000 people were searched, 1,200 were arrested and 500 knives were seized.”
We are now in November and nothing has improved perhaps they should re-address the law as its simply not working.
Zimbabwe bank notes on ebay
November 20, 2008
There are actually people selling money on eBay, obviously you will get special coins or real collectible items but there seems to be a mass influx at the moment of Zimbabwe $20000.
Now they seem to be going for about £2 but that says to me that the Zimbabwe economy must be very very bad, and people are buying them as they have only just been released but I’m guessing that monetary value is currently around £1 which must be a night mare when you want to go and buy a paper and a bottle of milk or perhaps a weekly shop as its likely you will need a wheelbarrow to carry all the money.
I might buy one to get my little bit of history or help someone out but will I just stick it in draw? Pretty likely but I love bidding and when its only going to cost me a few quid I might as well have a go and see what happens.
contemporary furniture
November 19, 2008
One of the things I didn’t expect to find on eBay was contemporary furniture and there are some exciting and really nice sets or individual pieces of furniture.
Try it yourself there are some fantastic solid ash and oak bedroom suites which your coy enough to bid at the right time can easily be bought at a bargain price.
The thing that brought my attention to this was I was looking for an up to date or funky coffee table and I taken back with all the different types of contemporary furniture that appeared.
Unfortunately the table I was looking for was snapped up by a last minute bid which under cut me by just £2 which I was gutted about but I’m now in the hunt for another one.
There was one bonus I managed to find a contemporary furniture cube shaped shelving unit and snapped it up at £200 less than it goes for in your local high street shop.
My girlfriend loves it and she has now found the untapped market and is annoyingly looking at buying lots of matching items which I’m going to be footing the bill for, check out the image below its the one I bought and it looks fantastic.
Top 10 Christmas gifts on ebay
November 19, 2008
So what is in your top ten gifts for Christmas 2008?
Here I go,
1, xbox 360
2, Playstation 3
3, Elmo, tickle me extreme (it always makes an appearance and does well)
4, TV’s
5, Pda, or satnav
6, Socks or Scarfs (annoyingly always make a good amount of sales)
7, Gadgets (normally pointless)
8, PC
9, Car (if you sell at the right time you can make a killing)
10, Clothes
So if you have any of the products above and want to make a bit of cash for Christmas get selling at the start of December at the latest then you have time to catch the Christmas post.
If you have any old clothes that’s normally the way to make a quick sale as people will tend to bid even if they are not sure that they really want the piece of clothing, I have found that when I have sent items people ask if they can return them because they are not sure they like it now they have got it, the funny thing is you shouldn’t have bid on it if you didn’t like it.
Royal mail Crimbo guide for eBay
November 18, 2008
Royal Mail has announced a Christmas initiative which will hopefully handle the estimated £14.17 billion spend by online shoppers which will be around 27 million buyers from now until Christmas.
Now its expected that there will be delivery rounds on Sunday mornings right up-to the 21st of December and even rounds between 6pm and 9pm on the 22ND and 23rd which will hopefully give people a chance to pick up parcels from standard deliveries.
The opening hours will be dramaticaly extended from the 15Th of December plus for the first time ever they will be open on the 21st of December in the afternoon. Anyone waiting for a letter or parcel will have the choice of delivery addresses perhaps a neighbour or work address.
Mark Higson, Royal Mail Managing Director, said: “Royal Mail is prepared for its biggest online Christmas ever and has taken steps to help people get their items as quickly as possible – even if they are not at home when we first try to deliver.
“The majority of items ordered online are delivered first time but we have put in place a package of measures to help people who are not home to receive the item, in cases where it is too big to go through the letterbox or requires a signature.”
Royal mail will tell you all about this with a non surprising letter and hopefully if you read it you should have no problems buying and selling on eBay this Christmas.
Stargate Atlantis eBay bargain
November 17, 2008
One bargain you might be interested in buying for one of your loved ones this Christmas is the Stargate Atlantis DVD series 1,2,3 or 4 and if you have the right connections you can buy the part of the 5Th season from America.
I recently bagged myself the 4Th season for a tiny price of a fiver, £5 pounds for a whole season which normally retails at around £30, granted I did have to pay P&P but that was only £1.99 and I’m currently bidding on the 3rd season because that’s the only one I’m missing, I’m currently sitting at around £9 so if that sells at that I will have got myself another cheap buy from the best market place in the world.
What will you be biding for this Christmas on eBay?
strictly come dancing
November 16, 2008
As strictly come dancing comes to a final few weeks it seems that eBay is starting to come up with some bargains.
There are also some great Christmas present ideas, now the first bargain I have noticed that keeps appearing is simply tickets to see the show live or to see the after performances when the show goes on tour.
The second bargain is all the promotional DVDs and Cd’s, and what a great idea for a Christmas present getting a DVD from one of the stars in how to learn the salsa or rumba, technically getting fit at the same time as your beloved partner does something they like.
The only product that doesn’t seem to be selling so well even though the amateur is getting thousands of public votes is anything to do with John Sergeant. The fat little newsreader is a terrible dancer but he has the sympathy vote and people keep voting him in and if he wins it will be amazing.
The biggest seller so far on eBay Strictly related is Ola pictures so if you have any cash in!!!
Children in need eBay
November 15, 2008
So I thought I would try and raise some money for Children in need and use eBay as a catalyst.
The problem I have encountered is people are very sceptical and don’t believe the products I’m selling will generate money that is directly going to the children in need charity.
I cant blame people really as when you type children in need into the search bar on eBay it comes up with over 258 products, who in there right mind would try an make money from the charity, correct me if I’m wrong but I’m disgusted with you if you are.
The only way you can really tell is if the money you pay goes directly to the charity like mine so stop trying to con people and give, give, give.
Just remember people that its all for a good cause and cashing in on other peoples misfortunes is not on and I hope you get what you deserve.
Look at this joker trying to sell a children in need lanyard. Hiding his face so if it comes back on him he doesn’t look a idiot……..
Diana Vickers
November 14, 2008
The only place in the world you can buy almost anything is eBay, and now Diana Vickers is making her day debut.
The girl is making history on X factor with such a distinctive voice and if you look at the featured video attached to all the site www.makecashwithebay.co.uk you can watch her current and past videos and performances.
The voice makes such a difference and I don’t even thing she is such a good singer but there is something about her voice that makes you sit back and listen and even vote for her.
The stuff appearing on eBay is apparently a signed photos, stickers, key-rings, and bumper stickers.
I’m sure even if she doest make it to the finals he will be the only one who makes a career out of it and its your guess to who takes on the career of the little future legend. I personally bet that Simon Cowell will get his little claws into her, even though Louis Walsh would love a peace even though it would be easier if she was male.
A little plea to those of you who read this, give her a vote and let her win, I know I will be.
Car loans
November 13, 2008
One thing you should sort out before buying your car is your finance or funds to buy it. To my surprise when you search on eBay for secured loans it comes up with 79 different results.
79 results, who on earth would search for a car loan on eBay? surely you would go to a company that appears at the top of google or a recommended or well known finance company, not an auction on eBay.
Am I missing a trick, or do you have the opportunity to bid for a low interest low rate loan, or is it guaranteed funds not matter who you are?
One of the biggest problems out there at the minute with the recession is, business doesn’t stop and people are still applying for loans and car loans but the companies on the receiving end of the enquiries are struggling to loan the money as financial lenders or backers simply don’t have the funds compared to 12 months ago.
When I was looking for my latest car I didn’t think of looking on eBay for a loan and all I actually did was think dump any outstanding finance on my credit card and try and pay it off as quick as possible or if need be find a loan after that. I might have a nosey at the eBay loans and ill post what there all about if I find that they are a worth while investment.
