Secret box sold

November 12, 2008

A box the size of a microwave was advertised on eBay as a surprise box that had the monetary value of £40 and did not have a reserve, and as you would expect the bidding started t around £1 but it slowly gained speed and eventually finished at over £60.

The postage and packaging was only a fiver so somebody made a profit.

If anybody bought it let me know what was inside or were you conned?

I once bought a surprise box on eBay but it wasn’t meant to be a surprise as it should have contained a mobile phone but the seller forgot to put it in and it arrived a few days later.

Would you have a go at selling a secret item you would need a good description to sell it.

Any post in Cardiff?

November 11, 2008

This is a early shout for any people buyers or sellers who live or use the Cardiff post offices: there was a fire in the sorting section of the Penarth Road office early this morning which is obviously going to cause a lot of delays when it comes to deliveries in the Cardiff area. Over 150 workers were evacuated out of the loading bay where the fire incidentally started. Fortunately there were no injuries and even luckier nearly all of the mail had been sent out and anything that hadn’t was in a separate room.

Royal Mail have released a statement that the areas CF10, CF11 and parts of CF23 and CF24 will have slight disruptions. Anyone who has got a leaflet saying there is a parcel waiting should hold off for a few days.

FA cup football results

November 10, 2008

At this time of year the FA cup takes its usual place in the football season and all the lower league teams battle it out hoping to land a tie against one of the big boys and not only make a killing on ticket sales and sponsorships and TV deals but have the likes of general plumbers and electricians play against the teams that they follow week in week out.

Every year after the early stages I see a large influx of scrafs, programs and shirts being sold from the actual games on eBay, this year Curzon Ashton are taking the fight on for the lower leagues by beting Exerter city on Saturday.

Curzon Ashton, who are they well here is a write up off there own site:

Curzon Ashton FC was formed in 1963 with the amalgamation of two clubs, Curzon Road and Ashton Amateurs. They joined the Manchester Amateur League and won the title twice and were runners up in their first three seasons. They joined the Manchester League and once they had found their feet in the higher competition, there was no stopping the Blues, tasking a string of Honors in the early 1970s. In 1970-71 they were Manchester Intermediate Cup runner-up and they followed that with a hat trick of wins in the competition. In 1973-74 they were runners-up in Division One of the Manchester League and then runners-up in the Premier Division, a feat they matched the following season. The Reserves team then won four championships in a row and in 1977-78 won the League and Cup Double.
Season 1978-79 saw Curzon become founder members of the Cheshire League Division Two and they won promotion at the first attempt, missing the title by just two points. The first season in the top flight was celebrated with the clubs finest moment when they became the first North West club to reach the Semi-final of the FA Vase. They lost both legs 2-0 to Stamford, the home leg producing the clubs record home attendance of 1800, and a record that still stands.
In the 1980s the Manchester Premier Cup was won five times. In 1983-84 Curzon became founder members of the North West Counties League when the MWCL Cheshire League and Lancashire Combination merged as part of the non-league pyramid. The club was placed in the First Division and floodlights were purchased in 1986 as Curzon prepared for an assault on the title and possible promotion to the Northern Premier League. Promotion was not attained and manager Peter Mayo resigned due to work commitments during the 1986 season his successor Les Sutton failed to win a single League game, although the club won the Manchester Premier Cup, he was sacked at the end of the season.
Despite finishing in a relegation position, Curzon became founder members of the Northern Premier League First Division the following season. A disastrous start to the season resulted in the manager David Noble being sacked and Steve Waywell became the clubs fourth manager in less than twelve months when he was appointed on October 1987. Relegation was only avoided when the Division was expanded from 19 to 22 clubs.
Waywell was surprisingly relived of his duties in February 1993, and after Alan Zelem briefly held the reigns, Winsford United assistant manager ‘Taffy’ Jones was appointed following which Curzon recorded their best ever win, 7-0 against local rivals Ashton United.
Season 1995-96 saw Curzon finish fourth in the league, their best ever position, under the guidance of Derek Brownhill, but they could not envisage what was to follow. Before the start of the 1996-97 season Brownhill resigned and joined Runcorn and Vauxhall GM manager Terry McLean took over, only to resign in September. At this time changes were taking place in the Boardroom and Dave Denby was appointed to succeed McLean, bringing with him Ged Coyne as his assistant.
The team struggled and then it was the turn of Denby to resign before the end of the season with Coyne being invited to take over, before being permanently appointed in the close season.
Finishing in the relegation position along with other North West based clubs Warrington Town and Atherton LR. Curzon moved to the Northern Countries East League following a meeting of the Northern Joint Liaison Committee, a decision which shocked not only the club but many other connected with football in the region. An appeal to the National League System Sub-Committee proved to be fruitless and so the club has become the first side to be moved in this way since the pyramid system was introduced.
The anticipated and forecast difficulties in the Northern Counties East League followed with the Club ending the season next to bottom. NJLC moved Curzon back west at the end of the 1997-98 season.
In November of 1998 Joe Murty was appointed manager and brought Martin Farnworth in as his assistant. Season 1999-2000 saw the club gain promotion to Division One of the First North Western Trains League. In June of 2000 Joe Murty was released of managerial duties and replaced with Gary Lowe. In season 2000-2001 Gary took the club to the Worthington Challenge Trophy Final where they lost on penalties. Also they finished in eighth position in the league.”

So how is your team doing? Will you be cashing in on there success this year on eBay?

soccerette on soccer am flashing video sold on eBay

November 9, 2008

There have been many a video on soccer AM which has made people either cringe or stand back in amazement but when of the best videos was of a girl who sat with the fans who had a short skirt on and when she got up to clap with the fans the skirt rose up revealing that she had no knickers on.

Now reports have revealed that the video was stolen or taken, not sure which really, but it was from the soccer AM studios and it has now been sold on eBay.

Now if you have not seen it before you can view it here but be warned I would class it as 18+. CLICK THIS

Its amazing what people will buy on eBay.

Mariah Carey on eBay

November 9, 2008

Well with Mariah Carey appearing on X factor one thing we will see over the next week is sales of Mariah Carey related stuff go up on eBay.

Every time someone appears or has anything to do with the X factor there stuff and products appear on eBay and everyone cashes in.

I am learning this and I’m going to sell anything I can find to do with the diva as I’m sure it jogs everyone’s memory into why they liked the biggest selling female artist of all time.

Last week in the news was Dannii Minogue and apparently she was having tantrum over one of her 3 artists Rachel Hylton not wanting to sing her songs but because of the news people started to buy her old records on eBay, I didn’t know Dannii had that much of a career and how much crap was out there when I saw it all on eBay I laughed as there were more items than the over publicised American election.

The only really bad thing I saw on eBay related to X factor was one individual was selling the charity X factor single, hero, for gods sake if you bought it keep it, as it was for charity, don’t try and cash in on other peoples misfortune. I know eBay is there for a purpose but let people buy the one tht is going to support the charity not your version.

Well anyway here is something for all you Mariah fans……………….

Jura Coffee Machine

November 8, 2008

A good investment you can buy in to on eBay is a good coffee machine, now I have to ask my family for the best types of machine as I’m not a massive coffee drinker but my partner loves a good cuppa.

The one make of machine that keeps appearing is the Jura coffee machine and it apparently has amazing write ups from everyone in the industry.

The machine itself can be bought from anywhere around £500 to £10000. Ten thousand pounds for a coffee machine, I was truly shocked but it was a commercial one and I bet it makes a fantastic cuppa.

I couldn’t believe the amount of information that there is to read about the Jura coffee machines and its amazing to watch the machine at work grinding down the beans and making a perfect cuppa.

The other interesting note you can read about is coffee is not made from beans well not to begin with anyway its actually the seeds of a cherry like fruit, called coffee cherries. The seeds have to be picked when ripe then immediately roasted.

Anyway back to the Jura coffee machine, it has loads of extras ad sometimes comes with an attachable fridge, cup holders and can easily plumbed into the mains.

I have asked around about the other machines in the market and every-time everything always comes back to Jura.

So unless my partner reads this she will be getting a new surprise for Christmas and something that she does not normally expect.

Make cash with ebay tips

November 8, 2008

1, Think about what time of day you set you auction live as if you set your auction start time without thinking about it maybe at some random hour of the morning just to get things going its likely that the auction will end at the same hour when realistically you could do with making it end about 8 or 9pm when people are settling down and making there final bids or if younger people will not be in bed.

2, Describe you item in full details, make sure you don’t get hassled with questions about specifications or people asking for photos, which can get very annoying.

3, Special offers, try and make you item different to everyone else as its hard when your selling a generic item like a phone as they are all the same, so throw in it some hits the reserve free postage or a hands free kit etc.

4, Be attentive as if people do ask questions they expect responses as its proven if the seller does not respond in 24 hours the buyer will go else where.

5, Don’t be to greedy as items just wot sell.

6, Sell safely as try and sell to your own country and always use a safe form of transferring money i.e. pay-pal.

Richard Bransons eBay

November 7, 2008

I got thinking the other night about how Richard Branson has got a finger in most pies or industries in the world and it got me thinking, what would eBay be like if he took it over.

I’m guessing that every other online store or shop like amazon etc would have to step up there game.

Could you imagine the VIP suites for the rich ad famous selling there goods to each other and then the bonus features and promotions he would push and I can imagine the freebies who would give for the biggest seller each month etc. Could you imagine all the new ideas he would come up with?

One of things he has done with industries is make them virtual, could you imagine a virtual eBay and all the extra services he could tie in with flights, transport and TV. It would eclipse almost everything else. Plus it would literally take off at an amazing rate before people had chance to react.

You never know if his researchers read this article he might steal my idea?

X Factor Seat next on eBay

November 6, 2008

My next guess for something to appear is Dannii Minogue’s seat as she not coping with Rachel Hyltons attitude and apparently because of the song choices Dannii keeps making, Rachel has decided to go it alone and choose her own song and mentor herself.

This ask the question, surely her other contestant Daniel is the front runner to go this week, that would leave Dannii with no one to mentor and as Simon is very much favouring Cheryl every time she opens her mouth will surely get rid of Dannii and put her seat up for grabs on eBay.

Its pretty far fetched but I think anything is possible when it coems to Simon Cowell and the X-Factor, the funny bit would seeing which ex-celebs would bid for the seat and try and claw back there career, Russell or Ross?

Audi tt on eBay

November 6, 2008

So recently I upgraded my car from a old P reg Golf GTI to a beautiful silver Audi TT, I shopped around for months until I found the one I wanted and found a decent enough salesman who I trust to sell me my dream car, the funny thing is the car I traded in is going to end up on eBay and I never thought of selling it myself on eBay as I just didn’t think of it.

I have now started to look into and it seems the lesser cars are napped up for a real bargain or enthusiasts will spend a pretty penny on exactly what they want.

Now when it comes to cars like Audi TT’s you need to spend at least £7k to get a good one and most of them seem to start at about £5k but will sell for over £10k when the auction finally closes.

So my tip would be buy a old car on eBay to get a bargain.
