Surprise suitcase
February 18, 2009
I have done this before and made a good profit and its that time of year when I’m thinking of a holiday so its time to buy a new suitcase and get rid of the old one. 90% of people will not buy an old suitcase so I always auction it off with surprise things in it so the buyer thinks they are getting not just an old suitcase. I normally advertise it with either the estimated value of the contained items or give clues like the weight and shape and it, and normally once found, it sells for a good enough price so I can go and buy a new suitcase.
Neon signs
February 17, 2009
One of my friends is getting ever closer to the big 3 0, yes thirty and his girlfriend is planning a big party that will be a great surprise because she not shy on spending cash and she loves making a party a real knees up and loves giving away crates of beer at the do. One thing she has asked me to help with and to see if I can get one thing on eBay, is a company who can make custom made neon signs and have some made in his name, date of birth and birthday signs all around the chosen venue.
The problem I’m finding is there are hundreds of results when it comes to neon signs but no results of companies offering custom made signs. I think unless she wants signs saying BAR, or BUDWEISER, she is going to struggle, and if anyone is reading this and you produce hand made custom neon signs then there is a market to be cornered on eBay.
Everton for the cup
February 16, 2009
Everton seems to be going from strides to bigger strides in the league and now in the F.A. cup and they beat Villa 3-1 to get in the next draw. If they get a good tie they could go all the way to the final and I will be using eBay to get my ticket for Wembley. The odds of Everton getting to the final are small compared to the likes of Man United, so I am planning to get a bit of cash and try and make some money on Everton getting the final so I can bid on a over priced ticket.
What would you pay to see your club playing in a major final because previously I have spent over £500 doing this.
Omega seamaster
February 15, 2009
I have recently been looking at all my old photos and to my disappointment I have been wearing the same diesel watch for the past 5 years and I’m thinking its definitely “time” to upgrade the one make of watches I love is Omega, and because of the awe inspiring James bond films, and Daniel Craig’s performances I really want the Omega Sea-master. The trouble with this watch is it retails for just over £2000 and I cant justify that sort of money as my misses wants a new kitchen, so its off to eBay and the first result has found a fully authenticated Omega sea-master which looks almost brand new for £530 so let the bidding begin.
The devil wears Prada
February 14, 2009
So my girlfriend has found another annoying film called the devil wears prada and it is the one of the most annoying and terrible films I have ever watched and it is killing me watching it, but because I love her I am persavering, fortunately for me she has not recorded it and she is now this morning asking me to bid on it on eBay, so for my sake I am making really small bids trying not to win and hopefully not end up with a film that she will play over and over again. For once I will be glad to loose an auction.
Catering equipment
February 13, 2009
A difficult thing to shop for is catering equipment unless you are a specialist in the industry. I have been looking into lots of different types of equipment for a friend who is in need of some specialised catering equipment in commercial refrigeration but as he is a reasonably new business he is struggling to spend the full amount on a brand new piece of catering equipment. I have offered my scouting services to scour the Internet and eBay to find my friend a fantastic bargain and get a few free beers from him to pay for my hunting services. I have started with the usual websites and I’m getting no where as everything is either below par or well out of his budget so I am now in the process of making small bids on eBay to try and hope that I steal him a bargain but I’m not sure if its me but the industry like the ice cream van industry seems pretty cut throat, so I’m trying to catch one of the sellers out by looking for misspellings or strange spellings of unpopular products.
I have limited success so far but I’m sure with my crawling techniques I will stumble upon on a peach of a bargain and cash in on the beers.
Poker sets
February 13, 2009
Lots of my friends love gambling and I have said before how I love a gamble every now and then so its time I get bidding for my own poker set. There seems to hundreds but the one I want has to be green, have sections to place cards and chips, be solid so not slide around like the cloth ones and have the ability to fold away as I’m not turning my kitchen table in to a permanent casino.
On my last works do, we all slid back to one of the lads hotels room and had a 4 in the morning poker match it was ace and since then I cannot get enough of the sport, I have just spoke to my colleague as well and he is sat at home playing online on a famous poker site, so thinking about it I have enough friends or potential losers to take money off, so I’m going to get a table this week. eBay here I come!!!
Basil plants
February 12, 2009
I love it when I find a good food product or a new herb that my girlfriend can add into her amazing meals, we have a small herb garden and it contains the usual suspects like thyme, lemon thyme, and bay leaves which are so easy to add into most things cooked but I was recommended a simply suggestion and to use basil as long as its fresh, so I bought from my local supermarket a very small Basil Plant. The leaves were lovely in some off the curries and stews my misses made and the smell was fantastic in the kitchen but as I’m new to caring for this temperamental plant I accidentally over watered it and it drop down dead like a sack of spuds. So now I have bought some seeds off eBay so I can learn how this plant grows and what it needs to actually stay alive and provide us with fresh leaves and flavours for lots of gorgeous meals.
I definitely recommend this herb……..
Cheap flights
February 11, 2009
At the end of this month I’m thinking of getting away from it all and booking holiday to get a bit of sun. If you have the time and patience you can find a hotel through looking at the usual sites then find the hotels site and book it for cheaper direct, but then you have to arrange your travel, and I was hoping to try and find cheap flights on eBay but it seems that the only thing people are selling holiday related is ted stockings or compression socks for blood clots, when I think there could be a killing made when it comes to selling flights on eBay.
I have found one or two people who are selling vouchers for flights but not the actual flights, so watch this space as I think someone will read this and start up a section for it.
Tyres
February 10, 2009
I’m starting to think that buying a new car is going to cost me in the long run as I have been getting a few quotes preparing for the worst if I need to replace anything that goes wrong with my car. One thing I have been looking at are new set of tyres, you can shop around on line and make most of the tyre companies out there compete with each other and end up in a bidding war then that gives me a good idea of what I should be bidding on eBay for a set of 4 tyres for an Audi TT.
The cost is a lot more expensive than my old car, a golf GTI and I’m starting to think that I might be better off trading the car in when it comes to all these problems and situations of spending thousands of pounds to keep it up to scratch.
I might have to do a long haul with eBay when this happens to see if I can get those special bargains as this has worked in the past and will give me the opportunity to out bid the sleepers out there who think that they can get a bargain with one simple bid.
