One of the great things you can bid for on eBay is a Platinum number or gold number.
You might ask what one is and I came across it by accident but its a personalised mobile number or a really easy memorable number.
I suppose its like having a private registration plate, well I ended up bidding on a random number like 07777111111 it started off at £5 but it ended up selling for over £2000, yes your reading it right £2000 so I looked into it and its called a Platinum number.
Here is a breakdown of how the numbers are valued:
The four types of numbers available are listed below:
1.Platinum numbers = £1000.00 + Vat
2.Gold numbers = £500.00 + Vat
3.Silver numbers = £250.00 + Vat
4.Bronze numbers = £100.00 + VatPlatinum numbers: The numbers can be in the range of:
1) XXXXX 000000
2) XXXXX 222222
3) XXXXX 222222.
Gold numbers: The numbers can be in the range of:
1) 000100

So would you spend that amount of beer on a mobile number when you can get one for free?
